Maria Deirisarri is an Atlanta-based artist with Colombian roots. She released her debut album In the Beginning in 2023, and her much-awaited second album is set to release in 2025. In the meantime, Deirisarri has produced singles like “Bluejay” and, more recently, “And I’ll Fly.”
“And I’ll Fly” showcases Maria Deirisarri’s ability to weave together a traditional Americana folk sound with Latin influences. The guitarwork is inviting and pairs beautifully with Deirisarri’s warm, jazzy vocals.
The lyrics evoke natural elements—“mighty mountain,” “trembling timber,” “shivering sea,” “faithful forest”—that help to ground Deirisarri’s ethereal singing (“And I’ll Fly”). With word pairings like these, she also demonstrates her gift for using alliteration to great effect.
In many respects, both lyrically and musically, “And I’ll Fly” feels like a turning point for Maria Deirisarri, her way of announcing that she’s only just begun her career. “I’ve found in me a truth that I can’t fight,” she croons, “All it takes is nothing more than now / And I’ll fly” (“And I’ll Fly”).
